as an ancient and mostly lapsed software developer, I always enjoyed the problem solving, the puzzles.
I was never one for some of the detail though, for me it was all about delivering change to the users, no matter what.
Where there was too much repeating what had gone before, refactoring, under the hood tinkering, I was not interested
So really I couldn’t care less for example with a data access layer – guys debate whether to used EF, Dapper, plain SQL – I really couldn’t give one, as ling as it does the job,
So ask me to create a customer database with an admin UI, no thanks
Recently though in the era of AI, there’s the option of getting this donkey work all done, much much more quickly, leaving us to focus on the interesting stuff
For me again now coding is once again about puzzles, those that maybe an AI can’t grasp, and maybe also about more creative aspects
So this blog is about using code to solve and create. There’s no detail about the coding language, pattersns, paradigms, just little bits of code that do nice things, maybre creative, maybe with real world hardware.
